Data Deletion
How to delete your i-Chat account and all your data yourself, how to remove a single channel, and what happens to the data.
Your deletion request
Confirmation code:
Delete your account and all your data
- Sign in at hq.i-chat.eu.
- Open Settings → Delete account.
- Confirm in the email we send you.
Everything is deleted at once:
- your account, workspace and personal details;
- connected Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads accounts and their access tokens;
- contacts, conversations and the files in them;
- automations, auto-replies, broadcasts, saved replies and notes;
- support chats and their files;
- API keys and ads connections.
Deleted data also disappears from our encrypted backups within 30 days, as they are overwritten.
We never delete or use your data on our own: it is yours, and you decide. Only the technical records listed in the Privacy Policy expire by themselves.
Remove a single channel
- Sign in at hq.i-chat.eu.
- In the left menu, open Instagram, WhatsApp or Threads.
- Next to the connected account, click “Disconnect”.
This deletes, at once, the stored connection with its access token, and the auto-replies set up for that account. i-Chat stops receiving and sending messages for it.
If you remove i-Chat in Instagram, Threads or Facebook
You can also remove i-Chat on Meta’s side. In the Instagram or Threads app: Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites. On Facebook (used to connect WhatsApp): Settings → Business integrations. i-Chat can then no longer receive or send messages for that account, and Meta tells us. If you also ask Meta to delete your data there, Meta gives you a confirmation code and a link to the request’s status page on the i-Chat panel.
Meta tells us only an ID that is specific to our app, which does not identify your i-Chat account by itself. To have everything deleted at once, use Settings → Delete account (above). If you can’t sign in, email the confirmation code to support@i-chat.eu from the address you use with i-Chat.
Check a request made through Meta
When you ask Facebook, Instagram or Threads to delete your data, Meta shows you a confirmation code. Enter it here to see the request’s status on the i-Chat panel.
The code has 16 characters, letters a–f and digits. Lost it? Write to support@i-chat.eu.
If you wrote to a business that uses i-Chat
Your messages belong to the business you wrote to, so please ask that business first: it can delete you from its contacts in i-Chat (“Delete contact”). You can also write to us, and we will pass the request on and help the business answer it.
Verification
Deleting an account always needs a confirmation sent to its sign-in email. When you write to us instead, we may ask you to show that you control the email address or the connected account, so that nobody can delete someone else’s data.
